ETHERNET IN INDUSTRIAL USE

Ethernet Wireless Standards The IEEE Working Group 802 that is responsible for the Ethernet standard also approved the wireless LAN standard (IEEE 802.11) at almost the same time as the 100BASE-T standard (part of IEEE 802.3).

A number of new wireless LAN standards have since come into being as a result of technological advancements. The table shows a selec- tion of the most important standards.
