Lapp developed solutions for multiple purpose applications to streamline the use of cable more and make it easier for customers to make a choice. Lapp Group tray cables have a well-earned reputation for playing critical roles. In many industries and manufacturing applications, our tray cables help keep power, control, communications, and data lines performing optimally.

Our tray cables offer many valuable benefits for manufacturers. • industry-leading oil resistance • superior bending radius • enhanced temperature resistance • no conduit required • UV-resistant and direct burial capabilities • UL TC-ER approved • c(UL) CIC/TC • unrivaled flexibility, durability, and cost effectiveness • low capacitance • resistant to a wide range of disinfecting solutions used in the food, beverage, chemical, and related industries

4

Know your application requirements for the most effective and long-lasting performance. It’s critical to know your installation environment for all types and voltages of tray cable, including where the cables are going to be run and important environmental factors such as cold, hot, damp, oil-heavy or wash down conditions. The applications are equally important, including significant curves, rises and falls, trays being run next to conveyors, and torsion ratings for wind turbines. Cold temperature flexibility ratings are also significant and can vary from -5°C to -25°C. Installations below the cold temperature flexibility can potentially cause the cable to be damaged during installation. Lapp Group tray cables come in a wide variety of insulation and jacket materials. Lapp Group’s 600V power & control cables pass stringent impact and crush tests per UL 1569 and don’t require conduit, which lowers operational and maintenance costs and increases layout flexibility. A smooth, round jacket design optimizes the seal when used with cable glands and connectors. Lapp Group also offers data and communication cable that can be run in cable trays. Most are PLTC (power limited tray cable) rating per UL 13 and are PLTC-ER (exposed run) rated. PLTC cables can be run in the same tray as 600V power and control tray cables when they are separated by a divider.

Servo motors and drives are fundamental building blocks for automation. Electric drives are found in a range of complex processes in industrial applications. Servo drives are purpose-designed to meet challenging requirements for the precision and dynamics of the system or application. ÖLFLEX ® SERVO 7TCE servo cable is the solution to long distance cable installations. Due to its UL TC-ER rating, ÖLFLEX ® SERVO 7TCE is permitted to run in cable trays with exposed final connection to equipment. As a result, installations no longer require the use of expensive, labor-intensive conduit or multiple cable types in order to adhere to NEC code. XLPE insulation is an electrical superstar. Insulation material with poor dielectric properties can break down over the lifetime of the cable, resulting in increased capacitance and voltage drops. XLPE insulation is an excellent dielectric material that insulates the conductors to minimize current leakage and capacitance. Lapp’s complete solution increases your machine’s efficiency. Properly installing servo motors & drives requires technical know-how and the right components to minimize EMC issues and reduce downtime. Lapp’s range of servo cables, glands, and connectors are specially designed to create reliable connections for your servo installation. Save time and money by increasing your machine’s overall efficiency with Lapp’s entire servo cabling offering.

With the new ÖLFLEX ® CHAIN TM series, Lapp brings a product to market that combines special continuous flexing design and valuable benefits of tray cables for manufacturers. It is ideally suited to continuous use in power chains with moderate to high travel paths and acceleration in non-stationary machine parts, linear robots and handling systems, and wind turbines (Wind Turbine Tray Cable). You won’t have to worry about choosing several different cables for your application and terminating connectors between the cable chain and the tray. Keep it simple with Lapp.

10

Several approvals allow for more flexible installation options. ÖLFLEX ® CHAIN TM is equipped with a specially formulated thermoplastic polymer jacket and multiple international approvals. In particular, UL listings MTW (Machine Tool Wire) and TC-ER (Tray Cable-Exposed Run) allow for flexible, standards-compliant use of the cable in industrial machines, as well as fixed installation in open cable trays with one and the same cable. Due to the c(UL) CIC/TC approval it is also a valuable alternative for Canadian tray applications. One dynamic cable solution for track and tray. This versatile new cable adds yet another valuable option to Lapp’s continuous flex product range. ÖLFLEX ® CHAIN TM features a special stranding technique which utilizes shorter lay lengths to increase its flexibility over other tray cables. Together with Class 6 extra-fine copper wire, this cable can be used in constantly moving applications in cable tracks involving up to 5 million bending cycles, as well as in moderate wind turbine torsion applications involving rotational angles of ± 150° per meter. With the shielded CY version, tin-plated copper braiding provides reliable protection against electromagnetic influences and ensures compliance with EMC regulations.

More flexibility. More value. More than you can imagine. • ONE single cable for continuous flex and tray applications • For the USA: UL TC-ER and MTW rated • For Canada: c(UL) CIC/TC rated • Specially formulated thermoplastic polymer jacket for optimal flex life

For the Lapp Group, innovation means future-oriented solutions for our customers. We are continuously developing Lapp products, system solutions, and services to meet the changing needs of our customers. Automation and networking technology continue to play a vital role in the manufacturing industry, especially mechanical and plant engineering. Lapp developed the ETHERLINE ® TRAY CAT.5e to meet the continually demanding requirements of Industrial Ethernet cable in these environments. Its robust construction and power limited tray (PLTC) rating allows for networking capability where routing through a cable tray is necessary. We set standards of safety, quality, and functionality. In food & beverage operations, safety is paramount. Lapp has a long history of helping manufacturers keep these areas as clean and germ-free as possible through innovative products that are designed to resist bacteria and other contaminants. EPIC ® ULTRA housings are nickel-plated die-cast zinc which makes them resistant to corrosion from detergents found in food & beverage processing plants. When installed as complete units, they are UL 50E certified for installation in NEMA 4, 4X, and 12 enclosures. In addition, the housings are electrically conductive and capable of virtually eliminating EMI. EPIC ® ULTRA is the total solution for both food & beverage and electrical interference requirements. With machine designs becoming more compact, more must get done with less. The EPIC ® MH series allows engineers to consolidate multiple connection points into a single connector. The system’s modularity enables the installation of cables to fulfill the widest variety of functions including power, signal, and data with the fewest number of connectors. Lapp has also developed multi-cable entry systems for wherever lots of cables have to be inserted into an extremely tight space for a secure connection between machinery and plant. SKINTOP ® MULTI makes an impression with its compact design and space-saving arrangement on the control cabinet. Innovative technology for PUR cable. In order to produce a cable that is as round and stable under pressure as possible, the jacket of control cables is mostly ‘press’ extruded along the bunch of conductors under high pressure. In the process, the gaps – known as interstices – are filled with jacketing material. Using this technology for polyurethane- jacketed cables is common but makes it hard to strip the finished cable. Lapp’s answer to this installation challenge was to develop the ÖLFLEX ® 409 P with an innovative functional layer. This layer provides improved stripping characteristics and reduced damage to the conductor insulation, which saves time, cost and material waste.
